Central Academy

Central Academy (4-6, 0-5) started out the 2015 season 4-0 but lost their next 6 games. Coach Griffin has a lot to build on and it starts with senior QB Clemson Allen. Allen threw for 701 yards and 6 TDs and ran for 555 yards and 13 TDs in 2015. The passing game at CATA loses its top two receivers in Christian McKeown and Nick Roets to graduation. Senior Devon McCarthy is the leading pass catcher that returns. McCarthy played in eight games and had 4 receptions for 85 yards and a touchdown in 2015.

Defensively the Cougars lose their top 8 tacklers from 2015 to graduation including Alex Miles and his 8 sacks. Junior linebacker Isaiah Hamilton had 17 tackles in 2016 and is the leader returning for the Cougar defense for 2016. No one else on the Cougars defensive side had more than one sack. Senior Nate Burnette is moving from corner to safety and has taken on the leadership role in the secondary for Coach Griffin. The Cougars will open up at Mountain island Lake HS on August 19th.
