Cuthbertson (5-8 & 3-4) finished 4th in the SCC and advanced to the 2nd round of the state playoffs before falling to SCC rival Sun Valley 49-14. Coach Johnson and the Cavaliers returns three senior studs on offense with QB Davis Walker, RB Myles Wallace and WR Trevor Grant. Walker took every snap under center in 2017 and connected on 56% of his passes for 2314 yards and 20 TDs as a junior for Coach Johnson. As a junior Wallace ran for 1213 yards and 11 TDs including 157 yards and 3 TDs vs. Monroe. Grant led the Cavs in receiving with 666 yards on 41 catches and 8 TDs. Grant’s best game was six catches for 114 yards and 1 TD in a lost to Marvin Ridge.

The Cavalier defense lost their top 2 tacklers in Carter Kendall and Tanner Vinson to graduation. The Cavs defense will be anchored by senior linebacker Josh Sepe. Sepe was 1st team UCHSF in 2017 after leading the Cavs in tackles with 157 and 5 sacks. Senior Chris Panko returns after posting 83 tackles and 2 interceptions in 2017. Junior DB Jackson Cheek and senior Jayden Jennings return to the Cavalier defensive backfield. Cheek led the Cavs with 4 interceptions last season and Jennings added 2 interceptions.

Senior kicker Brian Sroczynski returns after going 18-of-21 on PATs and 6-of-8 on field-goals with his longest being 52-yards. The Cavaliers open the season on August 17th hosting Porter Ridge.
