The Yellow Jackets (8-4, 4-1) will have to "reload" for the 2016 season. The Yellow Jackets have a new coach, a new QB and a new tailback 2016. New head coach Cory Smith takes over for the legendary John Lowery who retired after the 2015 season. The 6’2 215 junior quarterback Tyson Davis takes over under center despite playing in just one varsity game as a sophomore. The tailback position is wide open with the graduation of Floyd LouAllen and Jayshawn McLaughlin. The combination McLaughlin, LouAllen and QB Zaccheus Rorie rushed for 1982 rushing yards in 2015. Sophomore Kendrick McLaurin and junior Jaleel McLaughlin will carry the load for Forest Hills. Three returning starters in Tyler Bunn, Cameron Starnes and Chris Henry anchor the Yellow Jackets offensive line for Coach Smith. The Yellow Jackets return two of their primary receivers, seniors Titus Sanders and Tre’yon Grace next season. Grace had 352 yards receiving and seven touchdowns last season while Sanders posted 200 yards and two touchdowns. Both players will be called upon to be reliable targets for Davis. Defensively the Yellow Jackets return their top four tacklers on defense from 2015. Senior linebacker Tyrese Marsh led the Yellow Jackets last season with 127 tackles including three for a loss is back and ready have a great senior season. TJ Brewer will also return to bring experience after leading Forest Hills with seven interceptions last season. Jac'cquez Deese returns after posting 71 tackles as a junior and Nigel Wingo posted 54 stops in 2015. The Yellow Jackets will open up hosting Anson Co. on August 18th.
