The 2015 UnionCountyHighSchoolFootball.com's Player of the Year is Monroe's Braxton Knotts. Braxton did it all for the Monrore Redhawks in 2015. Mr. Knotts ran for 1315 yards and 18 touchdowns. As a receiver Braxton had 40 catches and totaled 1051 yards and 14 touchdowns. He is the 2nd Redhawk in school history to have over 1000 yards receiving in a season. Braxton totaled 2962 yards from scrimmage including 360 yards in kick-off returns, 176 yards in punt returns. Braxton finished the 2015 season with 34 total touchdowns which ranks him 3rd all time in Union Co. history for a single season. Knotts' 34 touchdowns scored is a Monroe Redhawk record previously held by Dion Byrum who had 33 TDs in 2000. In the state title game Knotts stepped up and with five receptions for 127 yards and 2 TDs. Braxton was named UCHSF's Player of the Week 3 times during the 2015 season. Braxton helped lead the Mornoe Redhawks to a 16-0 record, a Rocky River Conference title and more importantly a STATE CHAMPIONSHIP!! Congratulations Braxton!
