The 2016 UnionCountyHighSchoolFootball.com's Player of the Year is Sun Valley's Sam Howell. Sam had a monster sophmore year at Sun Valley leading them to an 8-4 record and into the 3AA playoffs. Howell connected on 62% of his passes for 3217 yards and 38 TDs to just 7 interceptions. Howell set the Union Co. record for passing yards in a game with 539 in a 49-27 win over Anson Co. Howell threw 6 TDs in a game twice and 5 TDs in a game twice. Sam was named UCHSF Player of the Week 4 times in the 2016 season. Congratulations Sam!
