2022 OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR

The 2022 UnionCountyHighSchoolFootball.com's Offensive Player of the Year is Weddington's Tyler Budge. Budge was named SCC Offensive Player of the Year and ALL-SCC. He connected on 60% of his passes for the season. Led Union Co. in completions (230), attempts (382), passing yards with 3219 yards and passing TDs with 34. His 3219 yards and 34 passing TDs are Weddington school records. Was named UCHSF Player of the Week for Weeks 3, 11 & 16. Threw for a Weddington school record 404 yards and 3 TDs vs. West Forsyth. Threw for 325 yards and 3 TDs vs. Providence Day. Threw 4 TDs in win over Ardrey Kell. Threw for 138 yards and 2 TDs to help beat Marvin Ridge and win the SCC Title. Threw for 286 yards and 3 TDs in state semi-final game vs. Grimsley. Rushed for 258 yards and 4 TDs. Helped guide Weddington to a 13-2 record, an SCC Title and into 4A State Semi-Finals.
