Weddington

Weddington: The Warriors (13-3 & 5-0) will need to reload to defend their 2016 3A State Championship. The Warriors will have to replace UCHSF.com’s Defensive POY Joey Hobbs(163 tackles/8 sacks/11 total TDs). The Warriors will need to revamp their defense and that process will start with juniors linebacker Eamon Murphy (88 tackles) and DB James Shipley (36 tackles/ 4 Ints). Brimigion had 3 interceptions in 2016.

Offensively the Warriors will have a new QB in junior Whitner Litton taking over for the graduated David Bahay. Litton played in four games and was 12/25 for 187 yards and 4 TDs last season. The Warrior receivers will return James Shipley (25 /414 yds/5 TDs), and Max Brimigion (17/290/3 TDs) and Eamon Murphy (10/101 yds). The Warriors special teams will need a new kicker as well with the loss of Matt Peterson (13 FG’s and 69 PATs). The Warriors open the 2017 season hosting Ardrey Kell on August 18th.
