The Mavericks will need to replace a lot of offense in 2024. Senior Braden Rediger will be at QB after seeing time last season in 5 games where he was 30-of-55 for 297 yds and 1 TD. Senior tailback Zach Lee returns to the offensive backfield after limited action in 2023 with 213 yards on 48 carries. The offensive line will be anchored by 4-star recruit Kai Green. Green is impressive with his 6'6 frame that carries 270 lbs is committed to Stanford. The Mavericks return just 2 receivers that saw any action in 2023. Hill Despard registered 11 receptions for 132 yards and a TD in 2023. Kicker Ford Fehling is a sophomore and was 1-of-1 on PATs last year. The Maverick defense will be led by junior lineman Manny Lewis. Lewis had 60 tackles and 8.5 sacks as a sophomore. Senior Jaxon Clegg is back after 43 tackles in 2023. Both Lewis and Cleggs are UCHSF Defensive POY candidates as we start the 2024 season. Marvin Ridge opens the 2024 season on the road at Reagan HS on Aug 23rd.
