The Panthers return to the SCC after a 3-year stint to the Rocky River. 2nd year coach Daniel Dillard continue to push for success with Piedmont. On offense Piedmont returns junior QB Jack Blakeslee. Blakeslee started 10 games throwing for 918 yards and 7 TDs in 2024. With the graduation of Nate Gagnon (1031 yds 7 TDs) the 2nd leading rusher returning is RJ Sherrod who had 31 carries for 185 yards in 2024. The Panthers will need Sherrod to fill those shoes in the ground game.
Defensively the Panthers return 3 of their top 5 tacklers from 2024. It starts the 1-2 punch of seniors Rylan Russ & JC Helms. Russ had 44 tackles last season and 55 stops for Helms along with a sack. Cam O’Neal added 38 tackles for the Panthers in 2024. RJ Sherrod had 35 tackles and 2 interceptions in 2024. The Panther kicking game returns junior Alejandro Sanchez-Perez who was 12-of-13 on PATs and 2-of-6 on field goals. The Panthers open the 2024 season at Parkwood on Aug. 22nd
