The 1st Annual 2014 UnionCountyHighSchoolFootball.com's Defensive Player of the Year is Weddington's Lance Moore. Moore helped lead the Weddington Warriors to their best season in school history with a 14-2 record and a trip to the 3AA State Championship game. Lance set a Union Co. record for sacks in a season with 25. The junior defensive end added 105 tackles, 72 of those were solo tackles. Moore was credited with 45 tackles for a loss which was another Union Co. record. Moore was credited with causing 7 fumbles and 1 fumble recovery. Congratulations Lance!
